La ley del mínimo de Liebig dice que el nutriente que hay menos disponibilidad limita su producción, aunque haya muchos otros factores en grandes cantidades.
Es decir que el rendimiento de la cosecha esta determinado por el elemento nutritivo que se encuentra en menor cantidad, además un exceso en cualquier nutriente no puede compensar la deficiencia de un elemento nutritivo limitante.
Ley del máximo nos dice que el valor máximo del rendimiento siempre está afectado por factores limitantes.
